Last week Julian pointed to my nice camera & requested that we take pictures. I told him that that was a great idea & since it was a beautiful day out, we picked Matteo up after school & headed downtown in our small town to take a photo walk together.
I had been wanting to take some pictures that I could use on my blog whenever I happen to need them (rather than having to use stock photos), & going on a photo walk was something different that we had never done before.
I brought my iPhone, my old iPhone, & my nice camera so that we could all have a camera of our own. Matteo was so into taking pictures, Julian was just happy to be outside exploring, & I was happy that they were happy & that I got to take a few pictures of my own.
Matteo quickly claimed my good camera & took his picture taking very seriously. He would go up on his tippy toes or crouch down to get just the angle that he was looking for. He didn’t take multiple shots of one thing… he would line up the image how he wanted it & then take one snap.
I had no idea how any of his pictures would turn out, but when I checked my camera I was super impressed! I loved seeing his take on the world, & his images were beautiful. I have the flower one as my iPhone wallpaper right now, & it looks like something I would download from a wallpaper app.
I posted some of my favorites below. He took all of these himself! I just added some filters after the fact 🙂
We had so much fun on our photo walk, & I encourage you to try the same thing in your own town! I think you will discover the simple joys of seeing the world through your child’s eyes 🙂
